Is rekeying as secure as replacing the lock? +

Yes - functionally they're identical. Rekeying changes which key works in the existing lock by swapping the internal pins. The security level of the lock itself is unchanged. If your current locks are quality hardware, rekeying is the smart, economical choice.

How long does it take? +

Most home rekeys are done in 30-60 minutes for a typical 3-4 lock house. Larger properties with more entry points take a bit longer. We do it all on-site, no need to remove anything.

Can you match all my locks to one key? +

Yes - this is one of the most common rekey jobs. We can re-pin all your locks to work with a single key, so you only carry one for front, back and garage. As long as the locks are the same brand and keyway, it's straightforward.

What's a restricted key system? +

Restricted keys are protected blanks that can only be cut by an authorised locksmith with proof of identity. So even if someone takes your key to a hardware store, they can't copy it. Great for shared properties, offices, and anywhere accountability matters.

Should I rekey when I move into a new house? +

Absolutely - and most insurance policies recommend it. You don't know who has copies of the previous owners' keys (real estate agents, cleaners, friends, ex-partners). It's quick, affordable peace of mind.

Do you cut transponder keys for cars? +
